The students attend weekly, individual lessons and spends time polishing skills along with learning new pieces. In addition, Suzuki students listen to the recorded repertoire to prepare for future pieces.
The parent attends the lessons with the child, takes notes, learns about the instrument along side the child and becomes the “home teacher”.
Student Goals & Objectives
The objective of the lessons is to develop skills in beautiful music making. This will be accomplished by learning to play the instrument with a balanced and relaxed posture, by demonstrating beautiful tone, facility and organization of the left hand, mastery of bow strokes and secure intonation. Students will learn and perform the Suzuki repertoire beautifully with both technical proficiency and musical expression.
Curriculum & Assignments
All students will achieve the goals and objectives described above through the applied study of the Suzuki Cello Method. The curriculum and assignments will be individually determined based on the age and experience of the student but may include Suzuki repertoire, scales and arpeggios, etude and technical exercises books, sight-reading and orchestral excerpts.
